It's been a week since I last posted, but with good reason.
I have spent the last week in the hospital, with severe spasms that are associated with my "fibromyalgia" (if thats really what this is...). I started Friday evening with the tremors and then by the end of the night, it was like I was having seziures. <sp?> To make a long story short, I have been poked and proded and pumped full of different drugs for the last week.
I am glad to be home, but all of the last weeks events have just added more stress to our stressful life. This trip will only add to the pile of bills (mostly my medical expenses and utilities now) that lays on the table...a constant reminder that we are behind on bills because of my inability to work. As if I don't feel guilty and depressed enough over my disability! Still no word on my claim that I filed for SS disability. It would be a tremendous help, but in the meantime, we fall more and more behind, credit sucks (because of this crap) so can't get a loan, family can't help, and "we make too much $" to get help from anyone else. (Latter part...the system never works for those who are truely in need, work hard and don't milk the government for all its worth!) My husband already works 6 days a week, just to keep us afloat and give our daughter the things she needs.
I have scoured the internet for sources that might be able to help...can't find anything...same as above. Maybe $5000. will fall out of the sky tonight....
Anyways, sorry to sound like this, but I needed to vent and cry and after all this is just as good a place as anywhere else...
Goddess Bless....
Well I was wondering where you got to and now I know why. Sorry to hear about all the problems lately....kinda been there and done that. Kinda puts things in perspective doesnt it. I went thru something similar some time back.... I had it all at the time too.... good paying job, great family yadda yadda yadda but when the health goes south.... OY! Well I'd say "chin up" but I know when people said stuff like that to me it just made me want to hit them! J/K. Hey I'm EVIL remember? As for the ranting and raving the suit may have changed for the season but the cape is the same. Heres a shoulder for ya.....^
Dad went into the army at 17 and worked every day afterwards. His plant shut down when I was about 16 and he was out of work for a few months. Getting any kind of assistance is nearly impossible, and they treat you like a beggar instead of a person who has spent a lifetime paying into the system for others.:(
Hi Tiffany, sorry to hear that you were hospitalized. Hope you are feeling better now and everything will work out. Dont worry, i eat double servings of rocky road for ya..hehehe
I know how hard it is trying to deal on a daily basis with fibro. I was diagnosed with it 2 years ago, but had suffered longer than that, not knowing what it was called in the first place. I don't know what you take, but because I had an operation back in 85, I am on painkillers for the rest of my life. There are no guarantees for physical therapy, but I will tell you this. Ketoprofen really really does it for me. I take the 100 mg during the day and 75 at night, hydrocodone every other day, prozac three times a day and take showers-a lot. There's nothing better than water. As for SS disability, I have been on that and SSI for 14 years. You might want to check the original forms you got when you first applied and try contacting your caseworker. I live in WI and noticed you live in Ohio; according to law you have the right to check on your case frequently. Mondays are never good, Tuesdays and Thursdays, early around 9 am are good. 1-800-772-1213 They ask for your number and confirm date of birth. Hang in there, it took me a year and half before I was accepted; they continually hound you for more information on your claim and get " state doctors " to examine you. I had the unfortunate experience of being in a snowstorm on the day the appointment was held for me- I recommend not cancelling or changing dates for these appointments, they don't like that. I also suggest supplemental, if you are eligible. There's usually a cut-off age on that, depending on what state you live in. Don't be afraid to ask questions and make copies of everything you get. I have a file cabinet full of data. I wish you all the best of luck.
